Ed Hardy are known for their tattoo inspired clothing and caps worn by 'look-at-me' celebrities like Britney and Madonna. They're a bit of a love it or hate it label but they have a big following (my boyfriend paid £70 for a cap. A CAP!!) and are extremely popular, especially in America.
Now, I'm not a huge fan of streetwear so I wasn't overly excited when I heard they were launching their fragrance in the U.K but when their 'Original Fragrance for Her' perfume arrived at my desk, I opened the package and was surprised for two reasons:
1. The bottle is really quite pretty even with the trademark skulls, bones and roses design on it.
2. IT SMELLS AMAZING
Read on for my review!
As soon as I took that first sniff I have been wearing it ever since! I've even had one of those random 'I'm sorry to bother you but what perfume are you wearing??' moments. Which is the ultimate accolade in my books (this has only ever previously happened with Chanel Allure and DKNY Be Delicious).
Considering its base notes of warm amber and vanilla it is a really fresh scent that has one of those instant 'pick-me-up' effects. It has my favourite flower -freesias -and linden blossom mixed with a sweet blend of tropical fruits (apple souffle, mango, wild strawberries and grapefruit) This contrast of fruity and floral may not be anything new or ground-breaking but they have definitely got their cocktail of scents spot on because it smells absolutely divine.
It reminds me of some of my favourite things...beautiful bouquets of flowers, fruit salad, and baby powder!
It is a lovely Summer fragrance, perfect if you like feminine floral scents with a twist of fruit but don't want anything too sickly. Especially in the heat when anything sweet can become over-powering.
The Eau de Parfum is £27.50 for 30ml and the range includes a matching body lotion, shower gel and deodorant stick.
They are also launching in the U.K their men's scent 'Original Fragrance for Him' which comes in an equally loud bottle (black with a tiger on it, no less) which has a woody blend of bergamot and mandarin. Good if you like strong, musky scents on your man.
The fragrances launch this July and are available at The Fragrance Shop
