Kiss and Makeup interview: Dawn Porter reveals her beauty must-haves

Kiss and Makeup are big fans of Dawn Porter for her honest in your face appraisals of everything from celebs to poo (think Dawn Goes Lesbian and Super Slim Me) and we were excited to chat to her about her beauty secrets

When did you first become interested in beauty?

I was always interested; I just didn't get very good at it until I was about 21. In fact I looked pretty terrible until I realised that less is more with make up.

What's your cleansing routine?

I scrub with Apricot Scrub every morning and before I go to bed I wash my face with a very simple organic soap then moisturize with Oil of Olay Regenerist.

What celebrity do you think has a great beauty style?

I love the way that Scarlet Johansson can go either really natural or really vampy and always looks herself.

And which celebrity beauty style do you hate?

Victoria Beckham. I don't hate her I just think she looks so fake and unnatural. Just feel uncomfortable looking at her.
Three desert island beauty must have's?

Tweezers. Shea Butter. Lip balm.

If you had a makeup range what would you call it and what would be your
wonder product?

I would call it Hot Patootie (my company name) and my wonder product would be an organic hot body rejuvenating scrub.....

Top 3 favourite high end brands and low end brands?

Top are Yves St Laurent, Bobbi Brown and MAC, and the best low end brands are 2True, Rimmel and Pantene .

And most over rated product/range ever?

Crème de la Mer - it gave me severe eczema

What beauty trends do you predict for this year?

Natural wavy hair - no more hair straighteners!

Would you ever have cosmetic surgery, and if so what?

I don't think so, but who knows what I will feel or look like in 10 years. I can't imagine ever having anything done to my face, but I would miss my boobs if they got smaller so maybe a boob job, but I doubt it. I really can't imagine thinking it was that important.

What product do you wish existed that doesn't?

An instant stretch mark and cellulite eraser. (ahh, don't we all??)
