Meet Kiss and Makeup's new Editor - Anushka!

me.jpg

Hi guys!

Following the departure of the brilliant Zara I will be Kiss and Makeup's new Editor for the next few months. I know I have very big shoes to fill so I will try my best to continue bringing you all the latest make up and beauty news every day! (Zara will still be contributing though so keep your eyes peeled)

A little about me...

I have been working as a lifestyle writer for the last two years. I have written about fashion, food and home but my main area of interest is the fabulous world of beauty!

Read on for the lowdown on our fabulous new Ed!

I live for the latest beauty products, I shriek with excitement when I catch wind of Mac's latest collaboration, I mourned the death of cult brand Pout, my nails feel naked without Chanel nail polish in Fire and I am still on my one-woman-mission to find the perfect foundation match for my skin. Whether I am testing out supermarket brands or researching the latest wrinkle-busting-£200-a-tub cream I am passionate about all things girly. I live and breathe all things beauty so am ridiculously excited to be the new Editor of Kissandmakeup.tv - my favourite beauty blog.

I have written for magazines including BBC Girl Talk, First, LOOK and I am a regular contributor to Closer magazine where I compile a lot of their beauty pages and specials. I have written countless pages on the latest news and products from skincare features to celebrity interviews so am determined to bring you lovely readers of Kiss and Makeup ALL the latest news and buzz on 'it' products, latest launches, press parties, celebrity secrets and some videos if I'm brave! I'm always at product launches and usually take my camera along so I'll post some pics up so you can see what happens behind the scenes.

Please do feel free to leave comments if you like or send me an email at editor@kissandmakeup.tv - it'd be great to hear from you!

New posts are on their way but in the meantime here is a little Q&A on my beauty regime.

Skin Type: Combination - an oily T-Zone with dry cheeks.
Hair Colour: Very dark but not quite black.
Hair Type: Wavy
Hair Length: Long
Eye Colour: Brown
Skin Colour: I'm dark skinned - I like to describe my skin colour as the shade of a perfect cup of tea!

Favourite Perfume: Chanel's Allure is divine. But I'm a real perfume junkie - I have loads and rarely find one I don't like. Fruity, Summer fragrances are my favourite though.

Skincare Regime: I am a big fan of exfoliating products because I can't get enough of that spa fresh feeling that only a really gritty scrub can achieve. My favourite is Elizabeth Arden's Intervene 3-in-1 cleanser, exfoliator and primer scrub - it may be a bit expensive at £22 but this multi-purpose wonder prod is a godsend for lazy girls like me. I also use a serum in the morning and a Nivea night cream before bed.

Body Skincare Regime: Again, I'm a sucker for a good scrub. I am a lifelong fan of The Body Shop's scrubs and their latest Cherry range is sitting pretty in my bathroom. I have very dry skin though and often find even the most expensive of moisturisers still leave my skin scaly. Not a good look, especially in the Summer, so I tend to use a body oil such as Ole Henriksen's Lavender Body Oil which leaves my parched skin feeling tip top.

Favourite Skin / Body Products: Since the credit crunch I have replaced my trusty Estée Lauder Perfectionist Serum for Tesco's Skin Wisdom Protect & Prevent Youth Boost Serum. With a mix of skin boosting ingredients such as Rhodiola and natural pomegranate and pumpkin it really does make my skin look plumper and well, glowy. My favourite body products are from The Body Shop but you can't beat Jo Malone's Bath Oil for a long soak in the tub.

Favourite New Skin Product: Shu Uemura's new limited edition White Recovery EX+Brightening Cleansing Oil is so pretty it hurts! Fab for taking off stubborn make up it's my new must-have.

Favourite Hair Products:
I change my shampoo regularly but I always use Sainsbury's Coconut Conditioner which is only 70p! It leaves my hair really shiny and silky soft. I love Frédérick Fekkai's styling products and can't live without their glossing mist to create a sleek look but also love Bumble & Bumble's thickening spray for heaps of volume.

Hair Tools Used: Can't live without my Remington Travel Hairdryer - I believe a good blow-dry really is better than straightening your hair. But having said that I still count on my GHDs for a quick fix. Along with my Denman paddle brush and GHD anti-static brush in tow.

Favourite New Hair Product: Danish brand GOSH's new Salt of Mine Wet'N'Dry Saltwater creates sexy beachy waves. Perfect for laid back surfer chic.

Favourite Makeup Brands: All of them! It'd be cruel to pick but...YSL, By Terry, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Chanel and Rimmel all have a special place in my heart! I think Benefit have hit the nail on the head with their kitsch packaging (beauty shouldn't be serious it should fun, playful and lovely to look at!) but their products aren't best suited to me because I have dark skin - sob! But I still love their mascara. If you have dark skin like me then Mac are the people to go to.

Makeup Essentials: YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighting Pen, Clarins Summer Fever Sun Palette (circa Summer 2008 and still going strong), The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit, Nars The Multiple in Palm Beach, Make up by Barbara Daly at Tesco mascara in Brown and lashings of Carmex lipbalm.

Makeup Splurges: By Terry's (the man behind YSL's cult product Touche éclat Radiant Touch) Colour Skin Enhancer is an amazing tinted moisturiser that instantly brightens up my drab complexion. It is £50 for a tiny pot but it hides a multitude of sins so is worth every penny in my book!

Favourite New Makeup Product: St Tropez's new line of make up is guaranteed to sell out fast. Consisting of Bronzing Rocks, Radiance Mousse and a Bronzing Powder the products promise to compliment all skin tones - definitely worth checking out!
