Hidden within the Sardinian countryside nestles the 4 star Geovillage Resort, which exists as training and relaxation ground for sportsmen worldwide. The complex features a wide variety of sports related activities, with 3 pools (including one Olympic sized), 24 hectares of Mediterranean bush to explore and 10 tennis courts to play on, as well as football pitches.
But they've just added something new to their already impressive facilities- the launch of the latest Malo Clinic, to allow visitors to enjoy medical treatments and esthetic procedures in lush countryside surroundings.
Dr Paulo Malo established his first clinic in 1995, starting with cosmetic dentistry procedures, and then branched out to include a wide range of procedures, from rhinoplasty to microdermabrasion. The launch of the latest medi-spa combines beauty with fitness, and the GeoVillage complex is the perfect place for this to work in harmony.
I visited the resort to see what the new Malo Clinic would be like and was very impressed. The resort is located amongst huge fields of green as far as the eye can seem yet remains a short (free) bus ride from the sandy beaches. My room was large, with the towels freshly laundered and I had a cosy bathrobe to mooch around in.
Lunch and breakfast are served buffer style in the large light dining room, and the food on offer was fresh fruit and local delicacies such as sliced meats and cheese.
After I'd sated myself on the local cuisine it was time to visit the newly opened spa- and it was definitely worth the wait, The first thing you priced when stepping inside was how bright and airy the area was- full of light and minimalistic monochrome decor, with a hint of Japanese infused (think mirrors, stones and bamboo). The medical clinic boasts 14 treatment rooms, and the esthetic area has 13.
I was very impressed by the large Acqua area which consisted of an incredibly inviting pool, surrounded by a variety of comfortable looking recliners. The spa area also had the prerequisite Jacuzzis/steam rooms/spa areas, but they also managed to cram in some interesting features.
There was a 'sounding pool' area, where music played when you went under water and they also had tropical showers and a 'cold fog' shower so you could immerse yourself in this seemingly subterranean world. The pool is also equipped to give you a hydro massage- where jets of water massage you thighs when you immerse yourself in the inviting blue depths, an experience that was very enjoyable, In fact I almost drifted off to sleep, as I felt so serene and relaxed.

For the general beauty treatment such as massage and facials they used the Terrake range of products, which were created to harmonize sensory pleasure with mind blowing results. The range boasts nourishing creams and intensive moisturizers, to maintain and improve the condition of the skin.
There are a huge array of treatment on offer at the spa (with more being offered all the time) and you're able to choose from a selection that are designed to pamper, revitalize and enhance. there is a fully equipped medical team on hand to oversee the proceedings, and you can choose from IPL, chemical peels, shiatsu and others, with prices starting from 50 Euros.
They even have a dedicated tea room called Tisanaria - to relax in between treatments, and there are a variety of delicious teas on offer.
I found my time at the Malo Clinic very relaxing and therapeutic and can't imagine nicer surroundings to experience high quality medical treatments in.
