Benefit Erase Paste, £18.50

This creamy concealer disguises dark eyebags a treat! The intense formula masks blemishes without looking too cakey and unlike other thick formulations, which can make you look ghostly, it actually makes skin look brighter. We heart this.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit, £22.50

We love using products by BB because boy does she know how to transform drab skin into fab skin. This yellow-based concealer is best suited for medium to dark skintones and not only does it disguise imperfections it also fills in fine lines for younger looking skin. The handy powder compartment then sets the concealer.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage, £26.91

Very few of us have a completely even skintone which is where Laura Mercier steps in. This cult-concealer has one shade to match the skins depth of colour and the other to match the undertone so they can be blended together to create the perfect coverage. And hey if it makes SJP look flawless then there's hope for the rest of us!

MediumBeigeMousse.jpg

Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer, £5.86

This light-as-air mousse not only lightens dark circles but makes skin petal soft. It blends like a dream and instantly makes skin look radiant, particularly good if you have oily skin as it instantly mattifies too. Use it sparingly though as a little goes a long, long way.

Clinique Airbrush Concealer, £15

Nothing disguises the tell-tale signs of the night before like this pigment-rich concealer. It covers perfectly but also moisturises skin too, we lreally love this products as does all the magazines and tv shows that rate it their number 1 under-eye concealer!

Rimmel Recover Concealer, £5

With moisturising Vitamin E this concealer is good for those who have dry, sensitive skin especially around the eye area. It provides a radiant finish like a highlighter but is pigment-rich so provides good coverage too - the perfect all-rounder.

Fashion Fair True Finish Concealer, £12.35

The 3 shades in this product can be blended together to find your perfect colour match which is the most important part of concealing blemishes- the concealer has to match your skin. This is an essential product if your skin easily changes colour and tone.

YSL-Touche-Eclat-Radiant-Touch-Light-Peach.jpg

YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighting Pen, £23

More of a highlighter than a concealer per se but no list is complete without this iconic cover-up. It covers up dark circles and evens out skintones in a flash. It doesn't cover up skin but does make it look brighter which sometimes works better than caking on layers of concealer.

Mac Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer, £12

So effective that Mac even claim it can cover tattoos and scars (anyone actually tried this?) this thick formula needs only a tiny amount to cover angry red blemishes. It's also enriched with antioxidants to combat the infection.

Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer, £4.99

This lookalikey pen is one of the best under-a-fiver versions. It sinks into skin and surprisingly lasts a lot longer than some designer brands, it even passed the collar test. Skin is left completely smooth, matte and evened out.

Top Ten: Concealers - Comments

  • Very interested to see the C2000 and Dream Matte in the top ten - I think I need to give these two a test!

  • Alexia

Another really brilliant concealer is a cream one by Alison Raffaele called True Concealer which dries to a powder and really blends nicely into the skin. Alison is a prodigy of Bobbi Brown's so she had a good grounding in complexion!
