Like all beauty addicts I've never found a mascara I've been totally happy with, so I was keen to try the latest innovation in anti-clump technology: vibrating mascara. Buzzy mascaras are nothing new, but as a big fan of Maybelline's Define-a-lash series, I opted to give Pulse Perfection a try.
Maybelline's Pulse Perfection is a supercharged turbo version of its popular Define-a-Lash series. It has the same lash-separating brush as the other mascaras in the range, but vibrates at the push of a button, with interesting effects!

Day to night eyes
The best thing about this product is that it's a great multi-purpose mascara. If you apply it in without vibration it's much like using any mascara from the Define-a-Lash range, so you get the benefit of the lash-separating comb we've all come to love. Use it in this mode for a subtler, daytime look.
Once you've set the mascara to vibrate, you'll get a dramatically different effect. The vibration triggers the release of more liquid, which instantly puts a heavier coat on your lashes. This can be tricky to get used to: at first, you may use it like an ordinary mascara, adding layers to achieve thickness. Don't do this with Pulse Perfection, or you'll end up looking like a drag queen (unless that's what you're aiming at, of course!) One stroke is all that's needed with the vibrating brush.
instant glamour
I ended up with an almost 'false eyelashes' look which I rather liked - but I'd only wear it on a big night out. For a quick way to get glammed up with the a built-in spare daytime mascara, I'd recommend Pulse Perfection - it may take a little practice, but it could save you some money if you normally go for a day and a night mascara.
