Green tea is seen as a near-mythical substance by many due to its sky-high antioxidant content and its potent perking-up properties that work without the dehydrating effects associated with coffee. Some swear by a few mugs of it a day to help keep a clear complexion, since antioxidants are the body's 'natural cleanser'. But it's not always possible or helpful to brew up on the go, so a green tea tablet has been formulated to deliver all the benefits with minimal fuss.
I decided to give Teavigo's green tea extract a try to combat my tired complexion and afternoon slumps. And speaking as a hardened caffeine addict I was rather taken aback with the results...
Taking green tea extract reminded me of the many times I've been warned not to assume that 'herbal' necessarily equals 'mild'. It's an understandable enough mistake to make, as we've all had natural 'remedies' that did absolutely nothing, and the ones that really work are the exception that proves the rule.
This is one of those remedies that works. A little too well, in my case, as within 10 minutes of taking Teavigo on the three occasions I tried it, I was soon floating somewhere near the ceiling. This stuff really perks you up!
My mistake was to take Teavigo shortly after having a coffee, which made the effects a little too intense and rather unpleasant (that is, unless you enjoy being able to hear your heart thump). But in future I'll definitely cary a few tablets for those occasions when there simply isn't time to sit and enjoy a hot drink. It's so much better than pro-plus!
