RUSH BAKER ST 017.jpg
The slick chrome and black finishing's that adorn the Tottenham, Court Road RUSH salon are indicative of its newness, and make it look extremely contemporary. The salon is barely two months old, yet the shine from the highly polished mirrors doesn't wear off with closer inspection. The salon was completely spotless- a hard task indeed with so many reflective surfaces, and the staff were uncompromisingly pleasant and helpful; fetching me so many cups of coffee I had flashbacks to my university overdoses of ProPlus.

Located between Goodge Street and Warren Street, the salon injects a needed burst of hair know-how into the area, whilst steering clear from the crowds of Oxford Street.

I'm probably a hairdressers worst nightmare- I come into a salon knowing exactly what I want, with all sorts of pernickety requirements and am extremely resistant to change. I have extensions as well:- which often means double the combing and detangling for the poor salon junior. However there was not a wince to be found as I was whisked into the chair and plied with a variety of up to date magazines.

My consultation was very thorough, with no eye rolling when I professed that I wanted to stay blonde with highlights, and my head was rigorously examined. The stylist brought up the issue that I had a very dry scalp, and we discussed what we could do to treat this, I was very impressed with his analysis as this has been a recurring problem, and no other hairdresser has ever mentioned it to me. He suggested a Kerastase dry scalp treatment to cleanse the scalp and that I should follow this up with a regular deep cleansing shampoo once a week.

Next I was gowned and the bleach applied to the hair. A happy magazine later, I was whisked to the basin for a rinse and luxurious head massage which really dealt with the tension in my temples. A quick blow-dry later and I was the owner of a root-free head of hair with stylishly subtle tones of cream and gold interwoven through my light blonde tone. I was extremely impressed with both the service and the results, and found the salon atmosphere incredibly pleasant.
