Personally, I don't think I'd like to smell like Fergie usually looks. But, apparently Avon thinks most people would disagree with me because they've just inked a multi-year perfume deal with the Black Eyed Peas singer. Shalom! (Ugh, I hate myself a little bit for quoting that ubiquitous, inane song.)
The scent doesn't have a name yet, but is expected to come out next fall.
"We are really excited about Fergie....She's very inspirational and serves as a great partner on that front," chairman and chief executive officer Andrea Jung told WWD. "She's strong, she's vocal and in my own personal opinion she is an empowered woman who stays true to herself and is not afraid to state her opinion."
They're hoping the pop star will appeal to both Avon's core clientele and the young buyers of the mark brand of cosmetics and accessories (of which Lauren Conrad is a celebrity face).
At big sister Avon, Fergie is joining a roster of celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Courtney Cox and Jennifer Hudson.
"I love the roster of women Avon has supported," Fergie said. "Each one is completely different, but they are all wonderful, strong women who have a purpose. It was very important to me to bring what I have to the table. I'm a bit more rock 'n' roll than some of the other artists, and Avon has really allowed my personality to come through."
Okay, now I hate her a lot bit for calling herself rock and roll.
