It's been five months now since I started my laser hair removal course and a lot has changed. My first few sessions were uncomfortable, not terribly painful by any means, but hardly the sort of experience you could doze off to. Now, after repeated sessions that area has lessened in sensitivity, with barely a twinge felt as the laser is applied.
It's also become incredibly smooth- and I don't just mean hair free. Though the hair loss has been dramatic, the skin that has been revealed is remarkably soft to touch. It feels like babies skin, and this has been duly appreciated by the boyfriend.
After session two there was a marked reduction in hair in the area, but the subsequent sessions played a major part, as there is now a defined shape there visible at all times. I've got slightly more daring as well, thinning the landing strip more on every visit, though I'd still flinch away from total removal, because you never know, right?
I have two more sessions to go, and have been told it would be a good idea to top up once a year. My razor hasn't been used in so long it has started to sulk and flirt with the Mach 3, and I'm getting very excited at the prospect of being fuzz free on my next beach holiday.
To be continued...
I'm trialling the Soprano XL Pain-free laser at the Courthouse Clinic, 30 B Wimpole Street, London W1G 8YB. Treatments cost from £55 for one area, and you can get a discount if you buy a course.
