GHD ear and other beauty accidents: share your stories here!

We all know that suffering and beauty are bffs, but there have been times when I've really felt annoyed at how easy it is to inflict pain or even serious injury with a product and how simple it would be to solve that problem.

My main beauty complaint is something I call 'GHD ear': the painful and unsightly blister that can result in 'clipping' the side of your lugs while you straighten your hair. I've taken to covering my ear with a sock during the procedure, which has cut down significantly on the number of injuries per session, but looks ridiculous and is pretty fiddly.

I think it's high time someone invented special heat-resistant ear muffs for use with straighteners, just like the gloves you can buy.

What are your most common beauty accidents, and what inventions would you suggest to make your regime safer?

I'd like some kind of guard to stop me poking myself in the eye when attempting to put on eye liner on my lower eyelid please.

I can only imagine it would have to be a bit like the contraption from Clockwork Orange...which is probably why it hasn't been invented yet!
