The geniuses behind your favorite labels are not always the stylish, pulled-together looking individuals you might expect from their beautiful designs. But Rachel Roy is everything you'd look for in the woman who designs pretty, modern clothing.

So naturally we're very interested in her beauty secrets! Especially this unconventional one: "I don't put much in my hair so it doesn't dry it out but when I do an updo, bun or ponytail I use Nivea hand cream. It's also my favorite lotion as well."

"I use Chanel No 5 Body Lotion because I love a classic smell. I prefer the lotion to the perfume because it lasts longer on my body."

Word. I hate buying an expensive perfume just to have it dissipate in a few hours.

As for makeup, RR's favorites include bright lippies like MAC Lipstick Cream Morange, an eye opening mascara - she uses two or three coats of Lancome Fatale Mascara - and darkly rimmed eyes.

"I use Revlon Matte Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner in Black Truffle on the inside of the lids," she said.
