Ted Gibson gabs on Ashley Greene's New Moon hairstyle

Listen up, girls! "It takes over an hour to create her sexy, voluminous hair," Ted Gibson admitted of Ashley Greene's sultry pony for the New Moon premiere. This is so refreshing after being inundated with how easy and effortless these celebrities' gorgeous ponytails are to achieve, or how Blake Lively really truly just wakes up with that hair.

That may come off as bitter, but while model bodies are often denounced as an unreasonable standard for most women, star beauty routines are constantly touted as something we can/should be emulating at home. Which is cool - I love me a celebrity hairstyle. But don't tell me it's simple or will take 15 minutes or I'll look just like Angelina Jolie minutes after I exit the shower. Tell it like it is. And "over an hour" is usually how it is.

Now that's I've gotten that out of the way, let's get to the actual beauty tips, no? Keep reading for some advice on recreating Ashley's look.

Gibson suggests you start out with a really good blowout. Again, if you haven't mastered the at-home blowout or never feel like you can do it as well as your stylist - you might want to go to your stylist for this step or the entire hairstyle. Use a volumizing blow dry spray at the roots and lightweight styling cream on the rest of your hair.

Next, use a large barrel curling iron to create texture and volume. Then pull hair into a medium height ponytail, applying shine lotion.

Gibson also used a clip-in ponytail extension on Greene - something you probably can't nail the look without.
