Product Review: Organix organic (duh!) hair products

organix-shampoo.jpgYou may well have heard me whinging in the past about how many organic and 'natural' hair products smell herby, heavy and in no way fresh. For a while, it seemed that this was part of the course for eco-friendly wash stuff, and that anyone wanting to live like a hippy had to smell like one, too.

However, things have come on leaps and bounds with brands like Santaverde and now Organix, whose products are positively bursting with fragrant freshness. I sampled their Pomegranate and Green Tea shampoo: a really juicy-smelling wash that's especially good for dry hair. It had that revitalising quality about it that's absent in so many other organic products, and left my hair feeling thoroughly clean. I followed it up with Tea Tree and Mint conditioner, which was intensely minty fresh, and left my scalp tingling. Great for a product that contains no parabens, sulphates or other chemically questionable ingredients. Yum!

All varieties are £5.25 per bottle, available from Boots

I actually picked up that mint conditioner two weeks ago because my regular conditioner changed formulas and smells, and i loved the mint. However, as soon as I was out of the shower, my hair started frizzing up like nobody's business. Do *not* use if you have curly hair, it was a disaster and I was terribly disappointed.

Dandruff is caused by the shedding of dead skin cells and is actually most prevalent in areas of the head where grease glands are not only widespread, but most active.
