If you'd handed me a product a month ago that claimed to give the effect of false eyelashes, I'd have probably laughed and expected it to look awful. Which spookily enough, is pretty much exactly what did happen.
I was soon eating my words, however, as Max Factor's False Eyelash Effect mascara has quickly become a firm favourite of mine - and I'm quite a fuss pot when it comes to mascaras. The only ones I've ever really got on with before now are the two-step sort, and being a busy old blogger, I was starting to find it all a little tiresome.
So how did False Eyelash Effect fare?
Read on for my verdict.
The first thing I noticed about this product once I had it in my hands was the wonderfully chunky applicator, which reminded me a bit of MAC's Plush Lash (= good). The nice round brush made applying the mascara very easy, leading to fewer mistakes and smudges than I'm used to.
My fears of looking like a drag queen were quickly allayed as I discovered that unless you lay it on thick, this mascara simply separates and coats the lashes very effectively. It left them with a 'combed' appearance, that does give a more 'false' effect the more you apply it.
I've been using this mascara during the day (lightly applied) and topping it up in the evening for a more glam look, and really rate it. You can buy it for £10.99 at Boots
