The first ever fitness video I did was a dusty VHS pulled down off my Mum's shelf. It was entitled (if memory serves me) Rosemary Hip and thigh plan and consisted of forty odd minutes of flexing, stretching and warily balancing two litre bottles of water as mock weights (the alternative was cans of beans and we were sadly lacking that day).
I can't attest to any major difference happening to my thighs, but that may have been partly because I was fourteen and rather lackadaisical with exercise and partly due to the lack of tape measure around. Nonetheless I remember being impressed at how this seemingly ancient woman (when I was younger anyone over 25 was ancient) had the energy to go through a routine that had me sweating and cursing, and stretching.
Well the lady has proven to be a formidable force in the fitness world and she's now produced her 30th (and final) exercise DVD. How will the world exist minus Rosemary? I just don't know.
The DVD showcases six women from a variety of decades being put through their paces and shedding weight and firming in front of our eyes. As with all of her videos there's a lovely before/after section where you get to see the slimmed down exercisees and there's a healthy eating section as well.
It's called, ' Rosemary Conley's Real Results Workout' and is a fitting end for Rosemary's career. I cant believe this doyenne is leaving us though, it's a very strange feeling to experience the end of an era.
You'll be missed Rosemary!
