"A collaboration that feels like the best tongue-in-chic resort retort delivers that joyously bright and refined Key West bloom: new floral patterned Pearlmatte Eye Shadow and Face Powder, plus all the retro-modern colour combinations that Lilly is famous for."
Hot pink glittery lip gloss seems like just the cure to the post-holiday blues, and the MAC/Lilly Pulitzer Lipgelee in Preppy really put a smile on my face both in the tube and in the mirror. Read on for more about this new collection.
While I am a huge MAC fan, I'm not a huge Lilly Pulitzer fan, though I know plenty who are. They are likely to be getting some of the samples MAC sent me of this collection, in fact - but I'm keeping the yummy pink Lipgelee for myself. To look at it you'd think the glitter might be gritty in texture or too preteen in aesthetic. But once you put it on, both are untrue. I really love the feel, smell (vanilla) and look of this pearlescent gloss, $14.
I also got to try out the Pearlmatte Eye Shadow, $1950, with pearlized shades of white, an olive-lime green and a mid-hue purple. These aren't really colors I typically wear, but I can see them being a hit with the Lilly audience.
Lastly I tried the Cremeblend Blush in Joie-de Vivre, $18.50, a peachy coral. Again, I'm not into coral blush, but this is a nice, sheer, blendable color and I will say it was flattering even on my pasty skin tone.
What I'd really like to get my hands on is the nail lacquer in Steamy, a hot pink cream. For a full list of products in the collection, click here.
