Product Review: Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener

My addiction to American TV shows and general overuse of coffee has lead to many nights of insomnia and awaking with dark unattractive bags under my eyes. Looking like Britney Spears on a comedown is not my idea of attractiveness, so the search for a hide-all concealer was on. I may have found the solution in the latest addition to Bobbi Brown's Makeup FaceLift range. I'm a big fan of Bobbi's products as I find them really gentle on the skin, and her Shimmer Brick is always a makeup bag staple.

I've been trialling the Bobbi Brown Eye Brightener, a pocket sized pen that dispenses a creamy liquid that aims to disguise bags and circles.

"I designed this collection to give women all the tools they need to look instantly well-rested and bright-eyed", said Bobbi, and I had my fingers crossed that this would live up to her promise.

It looks innocuous enough, packaged in a slimline black tube, about the size of a short stubby pencil, and product is easily dispensed onto the brush with a quick turn of the base. Initially you will get overspill as it's hard to calculate how much product you'll need, but once you've used it a couple of times you quickly acclimatize.

There are 8 shades on offer, so they should suit most skintones, and I tried it in Light To Medium Peach a peachy nude shade. It was quite heavily pigmented but blended very well into the skin, making my bags look like they'd been Photoshopped with a velvet glove.

The colour settled extremely well, and lasted the whole day though I did need a mid morning touch up as it had started to crease slightly in the corner of the eyes. I really like the soft texture of this product and I like the matte finish as well, as I'm really not a fan of shimmering concealers (you know who you are!).

It makes a great addition to my daily makeup kit, and though they say it's an on-the-go product, I find it easier to apply in the comfort of my room, as makeup + car journeys always ends in disaster for me.
