Product review: Nars Orgasm Illuminator

Nars Orgasm is one of those products which has become so famous that even the most prudish can mention they enjoy it without sniggering. The Nars Orgasm blush revolutionized how we think about colour and led to women worldwide enjoying a post coital glow on their cheeks. Nars are building on their success with the Nars Orgasm Illuminator, a tinted product that aims to replicate that same attractive flush, but in a liquid form.

The product comes packaged in a bottle with a very small nozzle, which means that product doesn't get wasted spuriously. The shade is an attractive pinky peach, and I felt it also had hints of gold and shimmer nestled within.

I love the fact that the new formulation means you can wear it all over, as not only is it great for defining cheekbones it can also be used to add sheen to the collarbones and legs. OK, I'm not going to waste this precious product on my legs, but it does look great on the neck. It's really easy to build up colour as well, as it dries pretty quickly so you can darken your cheeks with a few casual strokes. I found it worked really well as a sheer wash on the eyelids as well, and mixed with lip balm made a nude lip gloss.

One of the things that impressed me about this product is the fact that it's incredibly versatile for different skin tones, as I saw it trialled on women with dark, Asian and white complexions, and it somehow managed to suit all of them.

I really enjoy using this product, but I think it falls slightly short of its beloved predecessor, as though having the Orgasm in liquid form is a plus, the powder blush creates a slightly sexier result. It's not that I dislike the product, it's more that it doesn't quite live up to..itself. Yeah that's a little confusing right?

However, the nature of the line and the fact that it suits so many people should guarantee that sales will be astronomical.

Is NARS Orgasm Illuminator can be a good eye-shadow ?

On the NARS French Website, it's written that we can use Orgasm Illuminator like an Eye Shadow, i would like to know it it's pretty on the eyes, if it's couloured and if it's shiny on the eyes ? Because I'm looking for a Shiny/Shimmering (nude) cream/gel eye-shadow/illuminator in a heavy tube like Orgasm Illuminator and I've got a Clear Skin & I wear Glasses.

During fashion week this kept appearing on face charts as having been applied on foreheads and on male models so I figured that it couldn’t be nearly as pigmented as the tube color, but it is beginning to seem like a product that can’t hold its own. I think mixed in with foundation might be the way to go with this. Perhaps it can make Sheer Glow actually look glowy.
