Beauty mags, makeup artists, cosmetics brands, everyone has been announcing the comeback of blue eye shadow for years. But the trend has been stuttering at best, never really reaching the popularity of its '80s heyday.
But if there's anyone who can take a crazy trend like blue eye shadow and bring it to the level of the common woman and cosmetics consumer, it's Bobbi Brown. She has come up with three limited edition Color Strips Palettes, $60, each containing one bright color and a variety of neutral shades to pair it with. The star of the Aquamarine Palette is of course a blue Metallic Aquamarine shadow.

Probably sensing people's trepidation when it came to blue eye shadow, Bobbi Brown posted a little tutorial and face chart on their Facebook fan page today. Here are the instructions for creating the look using products from the Aquamarine Palette.
1. Start with clean, moisturized skin. Even out skin tone with corrector, concealer, and foundation.
2. Dab Sand Pink Pot Rouge onto cheekbones, blending well.
3. With your finger or a Lip Brush, apply Sand Pink Pot Rouge to lips.
4. Brush Ivory Eye Shadow from lashline to brow bone as base.
5. Sweep Aquamarine Metallic Eye Shadow all over lid. For a darker, more pigmented shade of blue, apply additional layers.
6. Dampen an Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush and use to define eyes with Caviar Eye Shadow.
7. Apply Extreme Party Mascara (not included in palette) for full, dramatic lashes.
