Oscars 2010 Hair: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger definitely had one of the most daring and complicated updos at the Academy Awards in a sea of simple, classic hairstyles. Her avant-garde look definitely echoed her fashion-forward Chanel gown, and helped her beauty hold its own against a statement-making dress.
The look actually isn't as complicated as it seems, as long as you're handy with a braid. Read on for details.

Pantene celebrity stylist Danilo created Kruger's contemporary chignon with a twist. He started by spraying Pro-V Volume Root Lifter Spray Gel onto damp hair and blew hair dry upside down to help create volume and a base for the look.
Create a side part and divide hair into three sections - one on each side and one in the back. Tightly braid each side section up and away from the face. Take the back section and arrange in a high-slung ponytail. Split the ponytail into two parts, twisting them into a rope, incorporating the side braids into the twist. As you twist, pin the hair into place by knotting it up around itself.
Add hair spray and a broach! As with all such hairstyles, a lot depends on your ability to "artfully arrange" and pin up your hair in an attractive manner. If this isn't your strong suit, you might want to enlist a friend or just take this picture into your hair stylist.
