Product Review: Urban Decay Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder

Razor sharp.jpg

In the era of cameras with a ridiculously high amount of megapixels, every picture snapped shows every little imperfection. You want to combat this with using high quality camera friendly products, and Urban Decay have created this HD friendly powder which promises to give your skin airbrush like luminosity.

The idea is that the powder will give your face an attractive soft focus finish that will work well on film and in everyday life. But does the hype live up to the product?

Read on to find out.

The first thing that struck me about the Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder was the size, as it's quite large, and my hand couldn't make a fist around it. It's a similar size to their Surreal Skin foundation and designed a similar way with the powder in the base and a powder puff on top. The packaging was more sleek however with a graphite lid and subtle lettering on the base.

It's very easy to use and you simply glide it across the face and small particles of power are released, coating the face. It's very evenly dispensed and the overall look is very fine, and not a heavy mess.

They suggest that you can use it under makeup to turn foundation into a liquid powder- I was initially a bit dubious, but oh my god, this makes such a difference! Suddenly it was transformed from being an OK powder that was light and fine into a miraculous product that smoothed out my complexion and left my skin feeling ultra silky.

It's available in one 'universal' shade, and though I think that might be the case for fair and Asian skintones, I'd be dubious about anyone darker using this.
