bodychef food.jpgAfter some major indulgence last month, I decided it was time to take action as bikini season is looming once more. I turned to BodyChef for help with my diet as they offer a personalized diet delivery programme which provides all the calories you need, without the complication of having to weigh and measure everything yourself.

They have a wide selection of plans to choose from- 7 in total- which include a flat belly plan and a Low carb Diet Plan. I opted for the two week Vegetarian Plan as I wanted to shift pounds fast, but they also do 3 day, 4 day, 5 day and one week plans.

This diet plan starts in the evening, which I found rather unusual, and I went about my day trying to be a little more healthy aware that sitting at home lay that evenings dinner.

Prior to the diet starting I went over my likes and dislikes with a staff member over the phone, so my mushroom kedgeree for dinner was a kedgeree minus mushrooms (which I hate) which was a pleasant personalization.

Day 1, night

The large box I was provided with had a huge array of food stuffs inside it and a handy guide telling me what foods are for what days and what times. I get a Breakfast, Lunch and supper as well as a daily snack, and I'm allowed to have milk with coffee. The box was couriered to my front door and was HUGE- so much larger than expected.

I was a little confused as to which food was meant for each day,as though each product was labelled they weren't packaged into 'days' rather just arranged higggledy piggledey

The first day went very well with lunch being a tasty salad and the evening meal of bubble and squeak meal tasted delicious.

Breakfast shocked me however as it was bran flakes and milk, and their portion sizes for Bran Flakes was a lot lot smaller than the servings I'm used to pouring out. oops. At the end of the day I feel strangely full, and am starting to wonder if I'm really on the 1200k plan as it seems like I've eaten much more

Day 2

Every day I'm excited by the menu Ive been given- low calorie has never looked so good. I'm perusing the large box, and fall across a yummy looking chocolate brownie. OK, it;s scheduled for a day's time, but i sneakily have it today instead- I couldn't resist. It tasted great- I must get that recipe...

Day 3

Curses. London Fashion Week has meant that I've cheated slightly, as a hectic schedule and a grumbly tummy has meant I've eaten an extra low cal bag of popcorn and a soup (I was in a restaurant, rude not to) and now feel v guilty.

Day 4

Really enjoyed my vegetable curry today, the blend of spices went really well together and was very filling. It was interesting to see the rice measured out into a 40g serving for me to cook, once again was aware of how much I overeat in general and what a real portion size should look like

Day 5

Bchef2.JPG

It's really weird how many carbs I'm allowed int this plan- not used to diets that let me eat bread, and pasta- but really enjoying it, feels somehow more satisfying than my usual fare.

Day 6

It seems like I've been on the diet forever, but my waistline is definitely looking flatter and I have more energy. Am starting to crave foods though- not just chocolate, but weirdly enough the freedom to just have a glass of wine or apple!

Day 7

I've been playing around with the Bodychef website and am very impressed at the amount of motivational tips and success stories they offer- useful if you're flagging slightly. Another thing I like is that I get printed menus with every delivery, and it's quite cool being able to look forward to meals- curries, and desserts make me smile!

Thoughts so far

I'm used to doing fast diets and extreme juice weight loss attempts so was interesting to do a diet which involves a 'normal' diet calorie allowance and eat foods such as bread and butter.

Lunches were on the small side but wouldn't change any other thing, apart from maybe having the option once/twice a week to exchange snacks and desserts for wine

See one of the staff demonstrate what you get inside a package.
