Summer is in the air, and as the legs come out, you may be starting to worry about your wobbly bits. Whether it's tone or weight loss you're after you've probably started to investigate the various ways you can get in shape for summer. As well as actually making use of that gym membership, you might want to consider the latest way to get in shape with Power Plates, using their exciting 'two pronged approach'.
If you're unfamiliar with Power Plates, now is a good time to acquaint yourself with them, as they're essentially huge vibrating machines that allow you to improve muscle fitness by working the body harder whilst you maintain certain poses and stretches.
Power Plates has just joined up with Thalgo's Slim & Sculpt Expert range to create specially tailored targeted classes that work in conjunction with a matching cream. The options are as follows, Bust & Décolleté, Flat Stomach and Cellu-Thighs. Depending which option you choose, you'll be presented with the corresponding Thalgo cream and participate in a 30 minute exercise class that concentrates on those areas.
The idea is that after a targeted workout you then apply the cream, and hopefully your workout is 'doubly effective'. I'm a fan of Thalgo products, and found the texture of their thigh cream really palatable, as whilst it looks suspiciously blue and gooey, it's not gloopy at all and sinks in quickly. I opted for the Flat Stomach routine which involved half an hour of concentrated ab work, with lots of help from the trainer.
This class is set in the Harrods studio, which runs for around 10 hours daily, and as there are only four machines you get a lot of personal attention. I love the fact that Power Plates don't get you as sweaty as a gym workout as a quick baby wipe to freshen up and you're ready to go back to the office.
Power Plate Slim & Sculpt classes will be held at the Harrods studio from May 2010. For more information contact the Harrods studio on 020 7893 8518.
