For the last 9 months I've been addicted to the Great Lengths hair extension system. I've tried a selection of others- the Cinderella, Verlocke and Wonderful hair extensions, but though each version had different pluses and minuses I continue to return to Great Lengths. Their position as my favourite hair extension brand could be challenged however, with news of a new luxury hair extension brand that has just made it over here from Austria, and use natural human hair.
There are two types of hair to choose from- Hairdreams Special and Hairdreams Basic: Hairdreams Special quality is raw European hair in all natural colours ranging from blonde to dark brown, which come from all over the world. Hairdreams Special Hair can be re-used for up to two years depending on hair style and care, whilst Hairdreams Basic has a shorter shelf life and tends to have been more processed (and is also cheaper).
This system is similar to al other extensions in some respects- it's attached to the hair using bonds, it has a similar shelf life, and maintenance is pretty much the same. Where they excel though is in the quality and softness of the hair, as well as some unique ways they have to apply it.
They offer a 'hair thickening' method which uses a specially created haircap to attach hair to the head of people with fine and thin hair, when normal extensions are not suitable. This provides so much relief to women with hairloss and also allows recovering cancer patients to regain some confidence. This is done a variety of ways, from supplementing the regular hair with chosen hair that's gently integrated and by creating haircaps that will be bonded to the rest of the hair, to allow extensions something to grip onto.
They also offer extensions for men, and though I'm not sure how many Brits would partake in this, I thought I'd give you a photo just for enjoyments sake.
The hairdresser I spoke to thought very highly of the brand, which suggests Great Lengths may have some serious competition.
Have you tried Hairdreams? Let me know!
You can currently try out this systenm at the Inanch salon in Great Portland Street.
