I hate my hair. That's probably a familiar refrain for most of the women in the world, as my hair simply never does what I want it to do. I wish for long blonde silky smooth tresses, and what do I get? Mid length mousy brown with a wave that's almost impossible to eradicate. Sure, GHD's and hair dye help, but my days of Cheryl Cole style lustrous hair will sadly never be- unless I've splashed out majorly on extensions that month.
When I first heard of Bumpits I was initially very sceptical, mainly to do with their hilarious infomercial, as seriously, some American products are advertised sooo oddly. When they made the move across the sea I stated to be a little curious, and when I was offered some to try I happily jumped at the chance.
Due to a week of exceptionally bad hair, I don't have any photos of me to show you, but I can tell you about my experience in full.
There are three shades of Bumpits to choose from and I opted for light blonde which meant they came in a pale shade of plastic, which blended in perfectly with my fair hair. You get three Bumpits per kit, and they come with a nice little guide with advises you on how to wear them- as there are multiple styles you can create- they're more than just volume boosters, they also can give you cool up-dos and retro style chignons.
They're pretty easy to apply- you simply section off a front piece of hair, place the Bumpit behind it and then brush the hair back. Make sure you section enough hair, as my first attempts had me mocked by friends as the plastic showed through. Once in place, spray, spray and spray some more- Elnett is great for this- and then it's guaranteed to last the day.
I did find removal of the Bumpit a little tricky as you have to be really delicate in order not to rip any hair out.
I liked how easy it was to use, and was impressed by the volume achieved, without any backcombing involved! As I'm sure you want some before/after pics I'll direct you to the stunning Amber of Hey Dollface who has some great snaps for you to look at, and I'd suggest that if you're looking for bog hair, this might just be the product for you.
A note of warning though- it may sexify your style, but if you do pull, you'll need some time in the bathroom to remove it first, as lying down with a Bumpit is serious ouch (not like I've tried that or anything).
