Eye creams may not be necessary for those under thirty (when the skin is plumpest) but can be very important for those who are older than that as this is one of the first places that skin tends to thin, and you might want a more targeted product than your moisturiser. The iLa Rainforest Renew Eye Serum is a brand new product in the Rainforest Renew range from iLa, and promises to help boost your eyes with a cocktail of ingredients sourced from the Amazon forest. They've even created a special elixir with four powerful ingredients which they've put inside every product in the Rainforest Range, and the eye serum comes with a little guide that tells you, 'Amazonian Elixir 10%, Rainforest Ingredients 6%, Natural Ingredients 100%'.
So far so good. But does it have any effect on my eye bags?
The serum is really more of cream in consistency, and has a slight yellow tint to it and is lightly scented, so you're treated to a foresty style musk the minute you pump it onto your hand. It has a very light texture to it and sinks in almost immediately, so your skin is non tacky within twenty seconds- ready for you to apply foundation should you so wish. Skin instantly feels softer and it gives it a protective smooth layer. The ingredients include products such as White Lily Extract and Marapuama, and these are included in order to target skin problems. Marapuama helps boost collagen, whilst the White Lily extract encourages dark circles to vanish.
After a month of using this I noticed a permanent reduction in those evil early morning circles, and the skin was softer in that area. I can't really qualify the 'collagen boosting' properties with any kind of sincerity, but my skin was soft and firm, and I did like using the serum.
