If you're present buying for someone with a taste for the quaint (ie Me), getting them something from English classic Penhaligon's wide range of perfume would be a big step in the right direction.
I smelt a sample of their Bluebell fragrance, and while it's woody scent 'evocative of wet earth, moss and rain' is lovely... just look at the bottle! *Squeel*
All of their fragrances comes in the same style; a clear glass bottle with a different ribbon-wrapped top, all with the same vintage-y feel.
