Creating smoky eyes can be as tricky as achieving the perfect eyeliner flick. Max Factor's latest offering hopes to make the process a whole lot easier with their Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadows.
The double-ended eyeshadows contain a soft eyeshadow to be used as a base, and a darker colour with a sharper point for under the eyes and on the side of the lid to create that smoky style.
Both ends of the eyeshadows are easy to apply, and I like how simple they are to blend together. However, I have a couple of issues with it. Firstly, when applied without a primer it lacks staying power. Creamy eyeshadows like this do tend to rub off quite easily, so it's worth investing in a primer first before applying.
Secondly, if you blunt the darker end (as I did when I popped the lid on too fast), there's no way to resharpen it.
Irritations aside, I like these products as a starter for smoky eye novices. And at £7.99 per duo, it's not bad value either.
