Some may have been disappointed with the lack of excitement (beauty-wise) at Chanel's Cruise 2011-12 show, but it was apparent that Karl Lagerfeld was going for chic simplicity for this years collection - all about "sumptuous looks" and "easy elegance" , which was clearly reflected in the makeup - and though it wasn't dramatic, there's no denying how gorgeous they looked.
Models, including silver-haired icon Kristen McMenamy, were sent down the runway looking, in a word, radiant. Hair was a million miles away from what we saw during A/W11: no androgynous updos, angled buns or high maintenance ponytails here - instead hair was simple and softly pulled back. Sporting ethereally flawless, creamy skin, natural eyebrows and barely-touched looking eyes, they embodied that sort of No-Makeup Makeup that is so many of us dream of getting away with.
As always with these looks, it took quite a lot of makeup to make them look barefaced! Check out after the cut to see what products they used.
