Makeup maestro Francois Nars has launched the follow up to his first book, Makeup Your Mind: Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself. It's basically the same as the first, but with his artistry on real people instead of models - and excitingly, he revealed that there will be a third book featuring celebrities.
"We originally planned Makeup Your Mind as a three-part book set," Nars said. "The first book featured models, the second showcases real people, and the third will feature notables, tastemakers and celebrities."
The new book is full of ways to bring out your beauty ("You should always see the person first and the makeup second," he says) and was designed to feel more accessible to his customers even though it features more "complex looks". The difference, he says, lies in the people featured.
He explained, "They're everyday beauties hand-picked from the streets of New York City. They represent a range of ethnicities and ages, as one of my main goals this time was to capture as many different people as possible."
And he bestowed a piece of advice on us too - that old classic, less is more. "Regardless of what look you are trying to achieve, less is more," he said. "Always go for transparency no matter what - even with very intense colours."
