You'll definitely know Bare Escentuals from their award winning bareMinerals mineral foundation - which is famed for it's bencficial properties: they say its so good you can sleep in it.
It was only a matter of time before the brand released a skincare line - and now we have it: rareMinerals. The range includes three cleansers, two moisturisers and three treatments. All the products in the line are infused with 'miracle ingredient' RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex - a blend of 72 essential macro and micro minerals, which is clinically proven to dramatically improve the appearance of skin, increasing cell turnover and providing antioxidants at levels significantly greater than blueberries. It's so good for you, you can eat it - which we did at the launch (maybe we'll be seeing a supplement from them in the future..?).
But anyway the products. I've been using the Purifying Facial Cleanser, Deep Cleansing Foam, Purely Nourishing Cream for Dry Skin and the Pure Transformation Night Treatment. Check out after the cut to see how I got on with them.
Deep Cleansing Foam
This is hands down one of the best cleansers I have ever used - and I really enjoyed using it too: a paste when you squeeze it out of the tube, a tiny amount will turn into a rich, creamy foam. This was the first product I started using religiously: every night and every morning, and I noticed a definite change in my skin - it was clearer and smoother and about 100% brighter than it had been. My favourite product in the range.
Purifying Facial Cleanser
The other cleanser in the range, I started using this when my Deep Cleansing Foam ran out. This is more like an emulsion, and not foamy at all - kind of like a very liquidy gel. This was great too - it's kept up the improvement in my skin, and it can be used to take off eye makeup too.
Purely Nourishing Cream for Dry Skin, £27
I've never had particularly dry skin, but that hasn't really hindered me in the use of this product. The formula is a really satisfyingly rich paste - you really feel like you're loading your skin with goodness when you apply it. Although like I said, I don't really suffer from dry skin, like everyone I get patches occasionally, and during the three months I've been using it (I wanted to see proper longterm results before I wrote about it!) I haven't had any. And it was a harsh winter.
Pure Transformation Night Treatment, £45
The star of Bare Escentuals rareMinerals line, this is essentially a mineral foundation that you wear at night. Its also tinted and comes in four colours: clear, light, medium and tan - and if you're thinking, 'Great, I have a new boyfriend and I don't want to break the illusion just yet by letting him see my without makeup on' - that's exactly why they've done it (which makes me love them more). My only criticism is that the clear shade I have is still too dark for my typical redheaded-girl pale skin, so that doesn't exactly work for me. I haven't used this religiously (purely because I'm lazy) but when I do, I really notice the difference in the morning.
In conclusion! I've been highly impressed with the line - how many products boasting a 'miracle ingredient have you ever found especially effective? - and I'll definitely be repurchasing to the Deep Cleansing Foam and the Purely Nourishing Cream for Dry Skin.
