It's always useful to know a good hair salon in Central London so you can pop into it as part of a shopping trip. Eleven Hair in Mayfair is one such place, tucked away around the corner from Selfridges on Blenheim Street. Number 11 actually. Get it?
Although I set foot in the minimalistic, glamourous salon 10 minutes early for my appointment, I was seen to immediately and sat down with stylist Ben to talk about what I wanted to do with my hair (get rid of the ends without making it any shorter, which I realise is impossible). Oh, and then I was offered a drink, which arrived on a cool wooden stand.
After having my hair washed (Eleven use Redken and MorrocanOil products, and thankfully no-one tries to pressure you into buying anything, which I really hate) Ben set to work chopping my hair - it's very curly so he cut it diagonally instead of bluntly across, to help bring them out. Then he blow dried it using rollers, leaving me with bouncy glossy hair that you could hardly tell was any shorter. Although the salon looks ultra-swanky, and is manned by hairdressers who have done various catwalk and celebrity work, it still has a really nice friendly feel - all the stylists chat as they go past, and gave me a chorus of 'goodbye Steph' as I left, which made me feel very loved. Plus a strange man complimented me on my new hair as I walked down Oxford Street, which is always a good sign. Probably.
It's also worth noting that Eleven hair exclusively offer the hot new Digital Perm treatment - for more information on that go here, and check out the salon and prices here.
