Shiseido are well known for creating luxury skincare products that perform well, but their latest creation takes this to a whole new level. There's a whole lot of science in there latest creation, the Future Solutions LX Ultimate Regenerating Serum, and I'll try and break it down for you into more digestible chunks.
Skingenecell 1P is the operative word here, and this is an ingredient which increases cell vitality and reduces Serpin b3. Serpin b3 is a baddy in terms of skincare, it's a protein found in the skin which can hasten the ageing process and Skingenecell 1P fights this. It has been formulated into thsi serum in such a way as to boost moisture, enhance texture and give the skin a luminous glow. That's the premise anyway, but does it deliver?
I've been using this twice daily for two months and can tell you how I've been getting on with it. It's a interesting three pronged approach- you apply it up the jawline and firmly rub it into the skin and then the luminous properties get to work on the glowing complexion whilst the active ingredients work deeper, trying to combat damage and boost cell turnover.
There are a lot of other ingredients in this product as well-nOkra extract for extra collagen, Super-Bio hyaluronic acid (always a fave at Kiss and makeup towers) and Uji Green Tea (protects from UV rays) plus a host more.
It's easy to apply- a small pump dispenses some serum into you hand, which is slightly cream tinted and easily absorbs. It feels initially a tad gritty, which is odd, but you soon get used to the sensation. Thanks to the luminous pigments my skin looked glowing from day one, and extra use started getting me compliments from strangers and having me ( a rare thing) venture out without foundation.
Two months on and I think there's more to it than a luminous base. Apart from the odd spot my skin has been very clear and some fine lines around my eyes have reduced. The skin feels very soft to touch as well and pores around the nose have diminished. I'm particularly impressed with how bright my skin is first thing in the morning and how my morning 'pillow face' has vanished, as the skin seems a lot tauter first thing.
I'm really happy with the results- I love how bright my skintone is, and though I can't give you an exact skin cell renewal estimate, I have found that I look more youthful and awake- a massive bonus!
You do pay a price for all of this goodness and research, which is a mouthwatering £250- so it will hurt when you buy it. Length wise though, you get at least 2 months out of this, as I've been using this daily and still have some left in the bottle- which isn't see through, so hard to gauge just how much is left. The bottle is beautiful, a shimmering tube that comes in a pretty cloth bag (hey, details matter) and feels ultra luxurious.
£250 from Shiseido from the 1st October 2011
