London Fashion Week SS12 Beauty: Backstage at Charlotte Olympia

The Wella Professionals team kindly invited us backstage before the Charlotte Olympia SS12 presentation yesterday to check out how they were creating the 1940's Miami Beach Glamour-style hair to go with the distinctly seaside-themed shoes.

Described by team director Panos Papandrianos as 'a girl just back from the beach' look with a nod to 40's Hollywood glam, the result was different for every model - some were being styled with tongs, other waved with big-barrelled crimpers, and one girl even wore a styled wig.

The 40s element came from the fringe - swept to one side and pinned into place. the style was created by spritzing dampened hair with Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier, which acts like a primer to make hair more managable, and then followed by Wella Professionals Shape Control MousseWella Professionals Create Character was used to add a slightly dryer, beach texture, before a layer of Wella Professionals Super Set Hairspray to hold it all in place!
