Our last backstage trip of London Fashion Week SS12 was to Aminaka Wilmont with the lovely ghd team, where head stylist Kenna (who we previously saw at Basso and Brooke) was at work weaving some elfin magic into hair.
Kenna told us that his idea came right from the clothes; delicate floral pieces, but with an edge, inspired by the Scandinavian folklore of elves and changelings. To go with the clothes, Kenna created a fairytale-esque style - a centre parting and neat front kept a kind of regal poise, while the 'crazy, corrugated' back - achieved by using ghd Curl Hold Spray, plaiting hair in sections and then running over them with the ghd Max Styler - gave it that nymph like wildness. Extensions were added just by the temples "to frame the ears" and give it that extra elf-like quality. The plaits were then undone, brushed out and finished with ghd Final Fix Spray.
