
Although we want to look chic-ly scary at our Halloween party on Saturday, hearing that our Halloween make-up may well be toxic is a bit of a worry.
Researchers in the US are warning that many American novelty make-up brands (including face paints for children) use hazardous levels of cadmium, a naturally occurring metal which is linked to kidney, heart and lung problems, in the manufacture of their products.
Although all make-up in the UK goes through rigorous testing - and the research doesn't extend to products on sale in our shops, we reckon making your own is always the best idea. Plus, it's often cheaper.
