[the after shot]
I'm a big fan of long fluttery eyelashes and tend to be pretty attached to my various mascara wands. When I hear that Flutter lashes could offer me long clump free lashes that would last 6 weeks I was sold- perfect for the party season! I headed down to Harrods' Urban Retreat to try them out, excited to see what they'd be like. I'be had other eyelash extensions before and have been a fan, but Flutter was a new brand for me.
I was met by the lovely Kathryn who took a detailed history of my health and asked me what I was looking for. I told her I wanted long and dramatic- but she said no! It was surprising as no salon has ever refused me before but she said my eyelashes were in poor condition (true) and couldn't support the weight of anything too long. Slightly miffed but impressed with her honesty I settled down for the application.
To start with my eyes were cleaned and my lower lashes taped down. Then you have to lie serenely and wait.. and wait. It's not a quick treatment- you're looking at about 2 hours for a full set of lashes, but the result is worth it.

Kathryn applied everything very carefully, as the lash extensions actually attach to the hair rather than the skin which is pretty precise when you're looking at the eye area. Her technique isolated one lash at a time, as she worked individually on every row of lashes,
It felt very comfortable is a bit sleep inducing and when I sat up I was amazed at how fresh and wide my eyes looked. Despite the effect being more subtle than I'd asked for, I was amazed at how natural the look was and how it added that extra hint of depth to my eyes- and had my fluttering like a superstar.
I love the finished look, and was so impressed with Kathryn's advice and application that I may just be going back for an infill soon.. and again!
£255 for a full upper set with Kathryn at Urban Retreat, Harrods, £185 with a member of her team. Refills are £65-£130.
