Lancôme's latest product is touted as a super serum, but can that intriguing blue bottle really have the answer to your skincare woes? Created using the LR 2412 molecule to give the skin a luminous quality, the molecule gets its name from the 2412 attempts it took to create this formula. It does make you feel pretty confident in a product when you know it has had that much development, even though you feel sorry for the poor researchers- their notebooks must look awful!
The idea is that this plant molecule is designed to set off 'a series of tissular micro-transformations', (quoting Lancôme). It's claimed to be suitable for all skin types and works both at morning and night and whatever season, and holds 17 patents for formulation.
There's a lot of science bundled up with this serum, but rather than quote figures and chemicals I'm going to share with you my honest thoughts on this product.
I received it just as I was going through what I'll delicately call 'a bad skin moment' and was unsure whether I wanted to use something that *might* be rich on my nasty broken out skin. I was pretty desperate though and since I knew this serum has some exfoliating properties (to target pores and texture) I bravely tried it.
It feels nice to the touch and the cream is fairly solid, so doesn't just drip through the fingers. It also glows a luminous white which is a little weird, but none of this gives the face any sort of weird shine, so it was OK.
It wasn't an instant fix in terms of breakouts but I did notice that I started to clear up within four days of use. It then took another two to three weeks for my skin to get back to normal and then I started to notice that it looked in great condition. To be honest, I was so thankful that my breakouts were gone that the moisturising/ rejuvenating properties were a little lost on me, as once it had worked its skin clearing magic it started to feel like any high end product.
It's very gentle to use, and I applied it morning and night, covering it with a sunscreen when I went out in the day. It felt really light on the face and the cheeks do feel; smoother after application. It sinks in very quickly as well- bonus-and I'm now a convert to Lancome Visionnaire as part of my daily routine.
