After hanging out backstage for the best part of London Fashion Week, and being glued to the coverage from New York, Milan and Paris, we can safely confirm that plaits will still be 'In' this spring/summer. Fishtail plaits are still my favourite of all, being on many a catwalk and sported by loads of celebrities including Cheryl Cole. It's also my favourite because it's the most impressive plait I can do well.
By impressive, I mean that it looks really complicated - but it actually isn't once you get the hang of it. In fact doing this how to, I discovered that it is in fact far easier to do it on yourself then on someone else - you can feel the pressure you're exerting on the braid and exactly where your fingers are going.
We've broken down the hairstyle into manageable steps so you can see exactly how it's done - and please excuse my nails. I'm in between manicures you know dahling [truth: I've been scratching off all the polish I've been testing at my desk between posts].
Check out the steps in our gallery above as we tried out our skills on an unsuspecting Kate from Catwalk Queen at her desk. Thanks Kate! Once you've got the basic thing down you can learn to incorporate it into other hairstyles, like Kristen Stewart or Blake Lively. Let us know how you get on!
