Anything Kate Middleton is ever even seen glancing at in a shop sells out in seconds, so I wonder how many people are going to run down to Deborah Mitchell's salon to have her 'bee sting facial' now it's been alleged that the Duchess of Cambridge has been having home visits to receive the treatment.
The £165 treatment involves lymph drainage, massage and acupressure, before slathering on a cream containing honey, rose, lavender, shea butter and about one percent bee venom (safely extracted from bees in New Zealand), which tricks the skin into thinking it needs to react to a sting and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall is well known to be having the treatment for the last six years, and apparently recommended it to her, says a source. "Like any customer who finds something good, Camilla has told her friends and in-laws, including Kate. Now she visits the Royal Family wherever they are in residence," they said.
You can buy the cream alone for £65 from Deborah's website here, although she once told The Guardian that you could achieve a similar result by putting stinging nettles in warm water, mixing them with yogurt and honey and applying it like a facemask. We probably won't be trying that.
