After last weeks guide on lipbalm, this week's winter skincare series brings us... exfoliator!
An important part of keeping skin clear and smooth, exfoliators come in all shapes and sizes, with loads of different ingredients to remove skin cells, moisturise and even provide anti ageing properties.
So who needs an exfoliator? If your skin has been feeling dry and flaky, or looking a bit dull, or getting congested, give one a try once or twice a week, which, according to Dr Lionel de Benetti, Clarins Head of Research & Development, is 'sufficient to maintain the balance between preventing a build-up of dead cells and encouraging cell renewal.'
We've picked six of our favourites - from the most gentle formula for those who just want a polish, to more intense ones if you want to give you skin a real slough - check them out in the gallery above.
Aveda Tourmaline Charged Skin Refiner, £32
A creamy clay based scrub full of things to nourish your skin. Bamboo gently removes dead skin cells, antioxidants including Vitamins C and E, and Lycopene, help to protect skin from free radicals and environmental aggressors. It's also enriched with tourmaline (a semi-precious stone Wikipedia tells me) to infuse radiance into the skin. You'll like this if you want a more substantial grain - and leaves skin bright and very smooth.
