Asma from Boudoir Lashes is a lash goddess. Petite and perfect she assessed my eyes with careful consideration and declared that she thought I was suited for a mixture of lash extension lengths. She likes to use a selection of brands - from Jinnylash to Novolash and Lash Perfect as they all come in different lengths and she feels by combining lashes from a variety of clients she can get a naturally defined look. Though she says she loves all brands she did admit to finding Novolash glue the best as it has best longevity (great insider tip).
She works close to South Kensington inside Becca Makeup studios, so you can always have a touch up or a play after a treatment and the salon is bright and well laid out.
The treatment started with a deep cleanse and some soft cloths applied to the face. Next was the tiring bit - two hours of lying down whilst extensions were applied to my eyelids. Five different lengths were used and air was puffed around my face to dislodge any stray hairs and lashes. Asma does offer an unusual service as well - mink lashes which use real mink hair, but we decided against them as despite them being ultra soft they don't hold curl well and my lashes have a natural curl.
After two hours I looked in the mirror and loved the final look. Thick, dark and rich looking lashes were now mine - exactly the dramatic look I had asked for and I loved how they fluttered.
Asma gave me a sheet with information regarding aftercare which was very helpful - things like staying away from water for 24 hours and being careful about rubbing and touching the lash area.
The lashes have a life cycle of around 4-6 weeks, and four weeks in mine are still going strong, with minimal loss and still look healthy and full. I'm in love - the service was personal, customized and the lashes look amazing.
Session prices vary - I went for the two hour Couture Custom effect for £120. Lashes will last from 4-8 weeks depending on level of care.
