Blue was the colour of the day for the make up at the Chanel Haute Couture 2012 show yesterday in Paris.
Models headed down the catwalk, which was in a model of a luxury jumbo jet inside the Grand Palais, wearing clothes with the distinct feel of airline uniforms (for more about that check out Catwalk Queen), and blue, the colour of the sky, was everywhere (literally everywhere, even the carpet was blue).
Maybe to offset the air steward vibe, the make up was decidedly rock 'n' roll: skin was matte and peachy, with natural-looking pink on the cheeks and lips, and eyes were where the drama was at. Eyeliner was ringed all the way around the eyes, winged at the outer corners and lining the inner rims of the eyes, and a light sapphire shadow was applied above and underneath to complement the shade of the clothes. Nails matched too - they were painted a shimmering pale blue.

It's not entirely accurate to say the eyes were the most dramatic part of the look: who could miss that hair? The girls all sported different variations of rockabilly style hair, from this crazy brushed up mohawk to scraped back styles topped with voluminous quiffs.
