I have to say, the first thing that attracted me to Vera Wang's newest fragrance Princess Night when I saw it at a press day recently, was the bottle. Being a complete magpie when it comes to shiny things, it was impossible for me not to pick up the black and purple glitter encrusted, heart-shaped bottle when I spotted it.
Clearly though, with most pretty things, what really matters is on the inside - Vera Wang have revamped their Princess fragrance again for this new version of the sweet scent - after Flower Princess, Rock Princess, Glam Princess and Preppy Princess, this'll be the sixth incarnation.
So the perfume itself - it's sweet as you would expect part of the Princess line thanks to base notes of sugar, vanilla and musk, the scent is a combination of exotic flowers, fruits and woody tones. From the top you smell wild berries, watermelon and raspberry, which mellow into the heart notes of jasmine, rose and orange blossom, before finally settling into that sweet vanilla-y base. For those of you that like sweet perfumes, like me - I loved this - you'll like Night, but if you found any of the other Princess fragrances too much so, chances are you won't be a fan.
It's a shame this wasn't out in time for Christmas actually, because it would have made a great present for a teenage girl! Sweet fragrance, sparkly bottle, plus a crown-shaped cap that can be worn as a ring - boxes ticked. So if you've got Christmas money left over from the sales, save it for the 11th January when this'll be in stores.
