When we first saw pictures of Paul & Joe's latest cat-covered makeup range, we knew we needed to get our hands on it. Sparkly powders in kitten shapes? Paw-printed lipsticks? Pastel nail polishes and kitten printed packaging? What's not to love?
Luckily, we managed to get our grubby paws (pun intended) on the Face & Eye colour (£21.50), the Nail Enamel (£10) and the lipstick (£16) for a closer look. Products this pretty deserve lots and lots of photos, so prepare yourself!
Here's how they arrive, all packaged up in pretty cat covered boxes...

And inside are some almost too pretty to use cosmetics...

The lipstick is embossed with little cat paw prints. They're not as gorgeous as last year's engraved cats (which this year move over to cheek colours) but it does mean you're slightly more likely to actually use the product. The shade we tried (077) is a creamy, matte pinkish coral, and it smells like raspberry sherbet!

Next up comes the real star of the collection, the face and eye colour in shade 025. I can imagine this working really well for a 'natural' smoky eye, using the darkest colour on the crease for definition, but if you swirl all three you get a surprisingly gorgeous bronzer too.

Of course, the problem with a collection like this is it's far too pretty to actually use. So I just want you to know that swatching this pretty much broke my heart, thus it was with quite a light touch that I tested the three shades - a pale highlighter, a mid bronze and a shimmering deep brown. Pigmentation is good but not excellent, texture is soft apart from the sparkle, which is a bit grittier.

The best bit about this compact is the clever packaging - it comes with a little band to wrap around to keep the lid secure in your makeup bag. So should you be heartless enough to actually transport this around and use it, at least you can be safe in the knowledge it'll never open up when you're moving about.

The cat collection starts at £10 and is available at ASOS and Beauty Bay.
