I've been waiting for Erno Laszlo to come to the UK for absolutely ages - a brand with rich heritage and an abundance of Iconic fans including Marilyn Monroe (whose actual creams are in the picture above), Greta Garbo and Grace Kelly. A few years ago I got a sample of the Sea Mud Soap (which I gave to my very grateful housemate who said it was the best cleanser she's ever used and still talks of it fondly) and then did a little research into it, and when I say 'little' I am basically now an expert. What can I say, I like history.
Anyway, Erno Laszlo returns to the UK this April - where it'll have its own room in Harrods - and with it launches the new Hollywood Collection (above), featuring five products each inspired by one of Laszlo's famous clients (at the launch event I attended at Claridges, each section of the 30s and 40s themed-suite was themed to the person they represented - more images below). They are:
The beautifully cooling Instant Eye Repair, inspired by Ava Gardner (who was very protective of her famous eyes), with Vitamin E, Aloe and Rosemary Leaf extract.
The Intensive Porcelain Veil (created with Katharine Hepburn in mind) has vitamin rich-avocado oil, shea butter, Vitamin A,B, C and E, and Squalene which is a natural moisturizer and antioxidant.
Morning Beauty Rescue, the most visually appealing of the collection, as would suit the cream inspired by Marilyn Monroe - an iridescent, light, whipped gel containing a blend of semi-precious gems (including pearl extract which helps to increase collagen production), it also glimmers under light to give you a luminous glow!
Grace Kelly's Refresh Moisture Infusion instantly refreshes dry skin, and keeps it hydrated and radiant all day with the help of Tourmaline, which increases the absorption of nutrients.
The Velvet Night Cream (for Greta Garbo) is my favourite - a concoction that is dense and stiff like soap, but sinks into the skin immediately and without leaving residue. The stiffness means you have to really rub it in, which ensures you stimulate your skin, helping to increase collagen production, plus it's packed with anti-ageing qualities.
The set, which comes in a beautiful black lacquered wooden box, will be £175 when it lands at Harrods in April.
