Amid the slight snoozefest that was the make up at the Oscars, Bridesmaids actress Rose Byrne was one of our favourite looks, standing apart from all the samey 'old Hollywood glamour-style prom queens on the red carpet this year.
Not only did Rose break out a sulty smokey eye that pierced through a sea of samey 50's flicked eyeliner, but the actress ignored the usual protocol of putting her hair in an updo and wore her hair down in a sharp, glossy bob. This bob has, for the first time, caused me to fall in love with a parting (I just love the way that one section is parted low on the right).
Rose's make up was created by Maude Laceppe, who explained, "Her dress is like a piece of jewellery so we wanted glamorous and sexy but minimal at the same time. It's really elegant and modern. We wanted the skin to look transparent but radiant."
They did this using NARS products: the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (£27) and
Gaiety blush (£21) to perfect that glowing complexion, then using Lhasa and Coconut Grove eyeshadow (£17) and Via Veneto Larger Than Life Longwear Eyeliner (£17) they created those sexy, smouldering eyes before finishing the look with the dusty beige Bilbao lipstick (£17.50) and The Multiple in Copacabana (£29) on the eyes, cheeks and lips to add a "sheen".
