We went backstage with ghd again yesterday at Jean Pierre Braganza AW12 (see the collection here at Catwalk Queen) where creative director Kenna was creating some (unofficially) Pasty-from-Ab Fab inspired updos!

Described by Kenna as a thrown up, rock n roll, "moment of madness"-inspired hairstyle by a older, party animal of a women coping with the effects of last nights debauchery (if that doesn't describe Pasty I don't know what does), ghd's Volume Foam and Root Lift Spray were dried in together with the ghd air to create a wrong kind of texture which was then backcombed (the base of every good rock hairstyle) with a wide-toothed 'rake' comb. The hair was then blown upwards with the ghd air and wrapped up into an old fashioned French pleat to bring back an element of femininity to the style.

To add a tough edge, a clip-in side fringe (or bang as Kenna preferred - it's more aggressive) a few shades off the models hair colour was added to the front.

The make up at this show was really impressive too - the lips were the overriding feature, inspired by the prints on the clothes. Make Up Forever make up artist Michelle Webb created a beautiful three-tone lip, using a burgundy red from the outer edges, turning to orange and then golden yellow in the centre, with each adapted to fit with the models skintones. Skin was kept clean, simple and dewy with a touch of blusher.
