mac_vera_campaign_image.jpgWe are possibly more excited for the MAC Marilyn Monroe collection then we have ever been about one before, but it's not out til October. Luckily we can trust MAC to keep distracting us with pretty new collections - oh... every week or so? - until the happy release day.

The latest is their Vera collection, inspired by the artist Vera Neumann who was famous for her brightly coloured, geometric graphic and floral-print scarves signed with her name and her signature ladybirds - a collection perfectly timed for summer!

It's a nice, compact collection too, with a couple of nail polishes, some lipglosses, three stacks of crushed pigment, some eyeliners and the stars of the collection, two face powder palettes, in punchy shades taken straight from her pieces. Here they are in more detail:

MAC Crushed Metallic Pigment (which I love - £25.50) comes in three new limited edition colourways with a frost finish: Aloha, which holds Lantern Light (a metallic gold/bronze), Campfire (a rich copper), Shifting Sands (a metallic champagne) and Aloha (a dirty cocoa brown); Strawberry Patch, holding Star Crystal (pink champagne), Rose (a light Metallic yellow pink), Strawberry Patch (light blue pink) and Moon Rose (a bright dark pink); and Butterfly Party, with Butterfly Party (a bright lilac), Desert Cloud (deep blue purple), Rain Drop (a metallic teal) and Moss Garden (a metallic silver green).

There are also seven complimentary Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners (£14); Lord it up (bronze), Industrial (periwinkle grey), Designer purple (iridescent violet), Undercurrent (teal - I love a teal), Petrol blue (navy), Black swan (black...) and Black line (black with gold).

Next up! The two new nail varnish shades, Midsummer's Dream, a pale pink lilac with a creme finish, and Play Day, a pale milky coral also with a creme finish, both £9. The new shades of Plushglass (£16.50) are Fashion Fanatic, a creamy pale pink, Pretty Plush, extra soft pink with white pearl, Confetti, a bright orange coral with soft pearl, On A Holiday, bright pink with blue pearl and Butterfly Dream, a mid-tone violet with blue pearl.

The Pearlmatte Face Powders (£21.50) show off a bit of what Vera was famous for, embossed with a geometric square print, and the signature and ladybird that appear on her scarves! The two shades are Sunday Afternoon, with bright pink/bright fuchsia and soft pale pink with white pearl shades separated with a silver lining. The other is Flower Fantasy, great for darker skins, with a pale coral with gold pearl, a blue tinged pale pink and a soft pale salmon.

The collection will be available in March!
